PTRC has launched two new in house courses for individual or groups of local authorities
1. Stakeholder and public engagement in the development of LTP3
This half-day course introduces delegates to the important role for stakeholder and public engagement in the development of the third round of local transport plans (LTP3).
2. The Disability Equality Duty – What this means for transport planning and “placemaking” professionals
This course has been especially developed to help transport, highways and public realm professionals in Unitary County and District authorities to understand the provisions of the DDA and what this means for their day to day work in policy development through to planning, designing and delivering schemes on the ground.
The course can be run as a standardised training programme, or customised to take account of individual local authorities’ needs and issues.

“Successful Development of the Smarter Choices Agenda – Influencing Travel Behaviour”

10 Week Evening Course. PTRC and the Centre for Transport and Psychology
26th March 2010 – 26th May 2010, Harbour Exchange Square, London
PTRC has a very successful model for running evening courses in the fields of traffic and transportation. The evening course model allows employers to support their staff with affordable learning and development opportunities, whilst still being available during the working day.
This new and unique event is aimed at smarter choices practitioners in the public and private sector and those working close to smarter choices colleagues, for example in the areas of Local Transport Plans and Local Implementation Plans.
PTRC in association with the Centre for Transport and Psychology (CTP) are introducing an evening course that will provide practitioners with a substantial understanding in how to successfully take forward the Smarter Choices agenda. Influencing travel behaviour is a fundamental aspect of the smarter choices agenda, for this reason PTRC has joined forces with internationally respected transport and psychology experts that form the CTP to develop this seminar series.
We are launching this programme initially in London, but hope to extend it throughout the UK and Ireland at a later date.
